Coyotes Continue Success Over Edmonton Oilers

On an evening that included defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson’s return from injury, the Arizona Coyotes continued their run of dominance against the Edmonton Oilers with a 4-2 victory at home Tuesday.

Alex Tanguay opened the scoring around five minutes into the game with an assist by Ekman-Larsson. After the Oilers evened the score later that period with a Jordan Eberle goal on a power play, Martin Hanzal put Arizona ahead in the second period with a power play goal and Tobias Rieder added a third. Max Domi scored the fourth goal in the final period.

Ekman-Larsson was on the ice for all four Coyotes goals.

The Coyotes have not lost in regulation to the Oilers since Jan. 25, 2011, and are 19-0-4 against the team during that span.

The game was number 1,485 for Arizona captain Shane Doan, who passes Glen Wesley to reach 22nd place in the NHL for career games played.

The next game for the 32-34-7 Coyotes is a home game Thursday night against the Dallas Stars, the leaders of the NHL’s Western Conference.
